just a couple of cards

Yayyy I'm back ... :)

 thanks for not giving up on me u'all !! I have been letting my desk sit empty for a while now, but hopefully I'm back now. Lately  I've been working on card sets, I use the same layout and stuff for the cards but different colors and each card says something different as well. 

So here u go ... my first set of 6 cards ...

The bird is a cut-out from a larger stamped image and heat embossed add texture and I also raised it off the card a bit

The swirly thingy I drew myself, just couldn't find anything I liked on the net, so I kind of copied something I liked and I think it turned out o.k .. :)

Christmas Cards

Merry Christmas Everyone, 

 So, so much has happened since I last posted, this Season really is the busiest ever,  I haven't made as many Christmas Cards as I'd hoped but time slipped away and well, no time is no time... we are practicing full out for our annual school concert, which is in 5 days, and we are no where ready, I'm supposed to be getting costumes ready and yeah, I haven't done that either, Every year we show this PowerPoint about what happened all year, big events, small event, important or not, I'm really including everything this year, it's so hilarious going back and watching all those video clips I took during the year, so that's what's keeping me so busy all day and most of the night, powerpointing,... I'm supposed to be showing it on the 1st of January but I've only completed 3.5 months, But I am working on it.... anyway back to the cards... here they are for you ... and once again...

Hey guys  ...  I got a card and another drawing for u guys, 

I made the card using an image I won in a blog candy draw from Lena, thanks a lot :o) 

And the drawing, well it is summer time, and we're real busy with the canning and freezing of
fruits and veggies for winter use, 

so I drew up a poster to record the 
canning record of 2011...

B-day Card

Some days it seems that you just can't seem to be able to create something worth sending off, but I had to make a birthday card in a really short amount of time,... this is the best I could come up with.... not what I wanted but they should give me more time... I need lots..  :)

off to decorate for the Grad ceremony now,,, my helper is gradding so I'm on my own,,

SLEEP it off

So I'm back with another card,,, missed my sister's b-day,, can u believe it, me - a card maker, I don't even have to buy a card, missed giving my sister on for her birthday,, , still can't believe it myself,, so I decided to give her one on the first chance I got, it came a couple weeks later when she became so sick that all that helped was sleeping so I made a card for her with a bit of advice ... SLEEP it off... found a cute image  and the card did exactly what I wanted it to do,, make her smile ... :) as best she could, She's all better now, and actually looks like herself again, one side of her face was completely swollen ,  it was pretty freaky, and all that was caused by a sore tooth,,, scary,, 

anyway here it is,,

One evening while visiting relatives I 

admired a blinking snowman, it was around

Christmas time

and the cheerful multi-colored, blinking lights

had me mesmerized, they (the relatives)
noticed me staring at it
all evening and asked me if I wanted
one just like it,I leapt at the
chance to own a kool thingy like that, 

I mean, let's face it, you think you own 

a decoration just by your own self, and 

the next house you step into,there sits one on the shelf

just like the one you have at home on your shelf

hmmmm, there goes the cheer, well, of course

not allll of it:)

anyway, back to the story,

of course I said :"Yeah, I would like to have it"

but as with almost all stuff, you got to give a little

to get a little, so i compromised and said,

Nope, I'll not take it this time,

But I do want to know what it's made from!

I got all the supplies and made one

just for me,, and the next year I

tried something a bit different 

and changed a bit around

and finally I got what I wanted, 

A crafted blinking snowman, 

made by me

this one I made for my sister

who got married just last year....

so exciting ....

I made this one with only blue lights and it looked great so my next ones are gonna be blue just 

to change it up a little

 to show you what it

looks like with it's lights on

I added a picture down there too.

We left ours out all 

winter 'cause a snowman

is a winter thing.

But now that Spring has sprung it's 

been put aside to await

another winter when it will

 resume it's blinking...

Just thought I'd interest you with more cards....

this was a total surprise turnout for me, but i really like it,,, :)

I lifted and embossed the eagle on this one 

just to add something 'more' to it,

the person who wanted it, wanted it plain

I can't really do plain,,, but I tried

Pencil Drawings

Drawing has always been a favorite pastime of mine,

don't really know how i got started 

I think I just tried it and could do it and now

  I just love doing it

but then scrap booking started creeping up on me and

it does take up most of my drawing time

so... I pushed drawing to the side for a while,

came across some pictures of my completed drawing 
and thought I'd share them,

The horse 

was my first drawing,

it was after I had finished it that I knew I could,

and  immediately started the next one which was 

a crocus with a bee 

which I gave to my aunt for her birthday in may.

 Then I made an elephant drawing 

this was for a raffle draw for the Siloam Mission hope for the Homeless

 located in Winnipeg, it felt awesome doing something 

for the less fortunate and those working there are 

so grateful for everything, no matter how small the deed or

how short the time you spend there...

For some reason my pictures seem stretched 

any ideas on how to fix them?

Then I made a surprise grad present for my little sister,

a dandelion

 representing freedom, that she can do anything she

sets her mind to now that shes gradded

nothing and noone can hold her back,
just like the flying wispy thingies 

of a carefree dandelion,,,

Yeah, all my frames are homemade,,, by my dad 

he supports me with everything I try to do

and helps me out whever he can so after having to make a couple

of frames and searching high and low for old windows

for the glass he brought me my next drawing....

it's still in the early stages after 2 years, but I am planning

to finish it soon, i hope,, what can I say, 

crafting always seems to win whenever I have free time,,, :)

MY FIRST BLOG .... :)

So this is my first time doing something like this,, but I'm pretty excited to be doing it,, I love most of the blogs on here, and decided to do some sharing myself... lately I've been making a lot of baptism cards, with a lot of my friends going this year I had to make more than usual, so here are a couple to share with you.
